Have you ever created an event in the calendar app on your iPad or iPhone only to have it post to the wrong calendar. If you have multiple calendars on your device (iCloud, Google, local calendars), learning how to change the default calendar on your iPhone or iPad can come in very handy. As with most How To’s for iPads and iPhones, this one is very simple and will only take a minute to learn.
You Will Need:
- iPad or iPhone (any generation and iOS)
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Now scroll all the way down the screen to the last option which is “Default Calendar” and tap this option.
- In the resulting “Default Calendar” screen, you can set the default calendar for your iPad or iPhone. Simply select which calendar you want new events to automatically be associated with and a check mark will appear next to the calendar.
Note that if you create an event and do not want it to post to the default calendar, it is easy to change. With the event on your iPad in edit mode, scroll down to “Calendar” and select the calendar you want the event to post on.
